BROOD AWAKENING 2of 4

Terence here again! Man, am I excited!

Book 2 of 4 is here (officially) and I want to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm! I'm sure anyone who picks up the book will NOT be disappointed.

In it you'll find some action-packed pages along with more revelation, not only in the main story, but also in the epilogue. We find out more of what the LIFELORD's true intentions are, as well as a bit more on those pesky H.A.L.O.s.

It goes without saying that book #2 is huge in its place of telling the entire story of BROOD: AWAKENING mini-series. I don't want to give away too much... just get the book!

And for your viewing pleasure, here are some short write-ups on the 'bad guys' in the BROOD saga. I mean, your heroes are only as good as their enemies, right? The following will shed a little more light on those enemies. Enjoy!

Lifelord: A brilliant scientist in the fields of genetics and cybernetics. Edward Kimble in reality, but behind closed doors, he is the Lifelord. His nefarius creations serve to protect his fragile ego. As a 'mad scientist', it goes without saying that his ultimate goal is to take over the world.

Aries: The Lifelord's crown jewel of created henchmen. This beast is cross-mutated with the head-strong ram. He also has the ability to create and manipulate nuclear fission and fusion, much like the BROOD leader, Hazard.

Bloodbath: This 'undead' mercenary created by the Lifelord maims and murders on a whim. The spikes on the end of each elbow are the perfect weapons to get his malevolent point across.

Firearm: An 'undead' mercenary created by the Lifelord. The huge cannons in the place of his hands are a menacing force. However, they also serve to keep him confined. To compensate, the Lifelord thought it fit to equip Firearm with two small arms to handle mundane duties.

Raven: Another 'undead' mercenary at the Lifelord's behest. He has razor sharp claws as well as talons on each heel. He also maims and murders on a whim.

Riot: Never at a loss for words, Riot is ready to give anybody the business in a fight. Although she is not 'dead' she works for the Lifelord by doing his bidding. Her entire skeleton is reinforced cybernetically making her nearly indestructible. Her propensity to do bodily harm is matched only by her unyielding energy.

Angel: This mafia don's thought process is always motivated by acquiring power, be it, financially or politically.  He is burning the proverbial candle at both ends by dealing with both Richard Reuben and his arch-nemesis the Lifelord.

Barrage: This mafia boss is Angel's right hand man. His loyalty to Angel is unequivocal. He is the strong arm of the H.A.L.O.s evident by his numerous 'halos (small, golden rings)' that are draped over his torso. Barrage is always armed to the hilt, ready for anything.

Brash: This hot-headed mafia soldier is at the whim and behest of H.A.L.O.s organization and is constantly trying to prove himself in the eyes of his uncle, Angel. He has an unabashed confidence that takes priority over anything else in his life. He has no cares or qualms about anyone else's feelings, hence his name.
OK, so there you have it. The quote-unquote bad guys of the BROOD. Hopefully, this quick reference will give up a little more insight to these guys. At the least, maybe it will get you more interested. If so, check out our website here :

Knuckle Up!

Hello D.M.Eason here, and I'm going to introduce you all to my creation, The Knuckle Heads.

Originally created as "Bad guys" for my first comic book The Robatrons. ( I talked about The Robatrons in my last blog post.) The Knuckle Heads came into conception over 20 years ago. I was 16 years old, working at Pizza Inn with my Sinister Comics Studios co-founder Terence Sykes. We used to come into work early on Sundays just so we can sit and draw before we had to start prep.
Bam Boom was first, he was the new villain in The Robatrons. He made a surprise appearance to help Terrigor escape being captured. Bam Boom grabbed an injured Terrigor and jumped in his "Boom Machine" (a custom made mini helicopter) and flew away. In the next issue Bam Boom made reference to the rest of the guys by saying, "That group of Knuckle Heads back home. Bam Boom is the Leader.
Boomer is the  next I want to introduce. I designed him to have the "traditional" Aussie look that people think about when someone says that they are from Australia. It is the Crocodile Dundee look. I wanted him to look like Michael Jordan dressed like Crocodile Dundee. Boomer is the second in command of  The Knuckle Heads.
Dead Eye was the "hot head" of the group. Every group needs that guy who shoots first and ask questions later. I drew him originally to look a little like Patrick Swayze from Road House.(Pain don't hurt-James Dalton) I made him short with a Napoleon complex. Dead Eye, the biggest small guy you'll ever meet.

Whip-Lash is the black sheep of the bunch. He has the middle child syndrome. (I myself am a middle child so I know) He wants more attention than he gets, he doesn't respond well to authority and he is a ladies man. (Or tries to be) I created him with Star Scream from The Transformers in mind. He wants to be the leader but doesn't have what it takes to lead The Knuckle Heads. I wanted him to constantly second guess what Bam Boom tells the group. I also wanted him to think that he was a "Chick Magnet". Whip-Lash is the leader of The Knuckle Heads... in his own mind.
Torcher, Torcher, Torcher.... what can I say? I wanted him to be the comic relief of the group. He sees the   world through a child like point of view. Originally I had named him Fire Head (not a lot of thought went into that one) But, Terence came up with the name Torcher, and I liked it so it stuck. Torcher, he's happy go lucky, nothing bad ever really happens to Torcher... or does it?..hhmmm we will see won't we.
Cut Throat, I created him when...... wait, I didn't create him. Cut Throat was created by Terence Sykes. Terence and I wanted to do a cross over book, where I would draw his comic and he would draw mine. We where supposed to create villains that could get killed off. I created Man Muth (I spoke about him in my last blog post) and Terence made Cut Throat. But, once I saw him I didn't want him to be killed off so I kept him. His name was Switch Blade but was then changed to Cut Throat.

Original Designs

Well, that's it, all except Joey who is a cyborg kangaroo. He was always around, kind of a mascot for the group. I just never really drew him until most recently. He will go through a few changes in the next couple of issues but he will pretty much stay the same.

I can go into further detail about the guys, but I will save that for another time. But for now you can watch these guys as they grow into what I think can be "The Next Big Thing".

I have big plans for these guys. The Knuckle Heads, an overnight success, over twenty years in the making.   www.sinistercomicstudios.com

Until next time... More to Come.

GET TO KNOW THE BROOD

Hello again! Terence Sykes here to again expound on the virtues of the INCOMPARABLE BROOD! I have gotten plenty of feedback about these guys and mainly you readers out there are wanting more information on the main characters. Hence, I am writing this blog for that very reason. Here's a quick reference to each member of your favorite genetically/cybernetically enhanced Super Heroes!

Dr. Richard Reuben and Dr. Edward Kimble were two brilliant scientists and colleagues who worked together in the field of advanced cybernetics.  Although their early experiments and breakthroughs showed limitless promise, the two scientists broke ties citing differences concerning ethics and morality.
While Reuben focused on the seemingly impossible task of restoring damaged or destroyed nerve cells though cybernetics and animal cross-mutations, his counterpart, Kimble, chose to go a distinctly different route, attempting to restore life to completely dead or innate cells - staving off age and possibly even death.
Reuben founded the meager ‘Omega Laboratories’ to concentrate on furthering his research which included sampling host-specific animal DNA to regenerate damaged nerve tissue. With Omega Laboratories on the verge a revolutionary scientific breakthrough, Kimble sought Reuben’s accolades as his own.  Kimble and his facilities, ‘Synthetic Genetics’ or ‘Syn-Gen’, sabotaged Reuben’s work and destroyed Omega Labs. Kimble’s subversiveness led to the destruction of Omega Labs – killing Dr. Reuben in the process.  These actions, unbeknownst to Kimble, triggered a fail-safe put in place by Reuben to protect his life-long research.  This fail-safe, known as ‘Operation: Inverted Omega’, sped up the cybernetic and animal cross-mutations of Reuben’s experimental patients, creating the team of specialized super-humans who would become known as ‘the BROOD’.

HAZARD – The Brood team leader, cross-mutated with the ferocious lion. He is the ‘living nuclear weapon’ as he wields within himself the power to create and manipulate nuclear fission and fusion.

KAOS – Cross-mutated with the graceful gazelle.  She is a crack shot, agile and extremely fast.  Her only detraction may be her steely demeanor and standoffish-ness.

HOT SHOT – Cross-mutated with the vicious komodo dragon.  He is a very level-headed individual - except in close combat.  Formerly a pit fighter, he never passes up a good fight.

RAZE – Cross-mutated with the aggressive silverback.  His no-nonsense approach to all endeavors anchors the team.  His twin, chest-mounted cannons are his heavy-handed calling card.

JINX – Cross-mutated with the wily housecat.  This teen is an expert hand-to-hand martial artist.  He is very quick and agile, but his propensity for mischief usually lands him in hot water.

LIVE WIRE – Cross-mutated with the cunning fox.  She is a somewhat shy and reluctant mute.  However her preternatural ability to manipulate electromagnetism speaks volumes.

We are Sinister Studios

Hello world, D.M.Eason here! Today I would like to talk about Sinister Studios world of comics. I've been drawing comic books along with my partner in comics Terence for a number of years.

My first book that I created back in 1986 was called The Robatrons! They were a group of guys who worked for a organization that could turn humans into robots that go out and fight crimes committed by the evil Terigor. It was a mix of all of the 80's cartoons. Thunder Cats, He-Man, Silver Hawks, etc..

This is issue 2 of 12, I have issue 1 around here somewhere.

Terence and I used to draw our comic books on copy paper and staple them together. It was all done in pencil and no computers were used, of course.

I still have all 12 issues of The Robatrons. Maybe one day I will put them on E Bay.

Throughout the years we've had numerous comic books that we've created. Taboo, Robatrons, Turmoil, Marks-Master, Robo-Masters, Ace, Man-Muth, The Brood, The Peacemakers: Code Name Gear, S.C.A.R.L.E.T.T. and The Knuckle Heads. I know... a lot of books. But each one was well thought out and drawn to the best of our abilities. A number of them are currently being drawn and in the course of  being published today.

This is Man-Muth, I've got something in store for this guy. Keep your eyes peeled.

This is the very first book I self published. 100 copies were printed. A very proud moment, more to come with this guy also.

So, basically we've been creating for a little over twenty years. This is and has always been our passion. To create and entertain people with our creations. It is the best job in the world to have. I say all of that, simply to say this: we here at Sinister Studios (Sykes and Eason) are passionate about what we do. It has been in our blood from a early age and we will continue to do this until we've told all of the stories that are in us (and we have a lot!)

Our goal is to showcase our creativity in comics, animation, toys, sculptures, merchandising, movies etc...

We are a two man crew, we are the writers, pencilers, inkers, colorist and letterers of all of our projects. Sinister Studios is Sykes and Eason and we are Sinister Studios.

Oh and one last thing...
Our new store is now OPEN! You can pick up "Sinister Gear" NOW! Just go to our website: http://www.sinistercomicstudios.com/ go to Shop with us, once there just click on the Sinister Gear button.

More to Come.

Welcome!

Hello all and welcome to the Home of Unimaginable Imaginations, SINISTER STUDIOS!  My name is Terence (Mr. Sykes if you nasty), and alongside my lifelong friend, D.M. Eason, we pledge to create the eye-popping, mind-boggling comic books that you're guaranteed to enjoy.  With that said, I will in today's blog announce the printing of "The BROOD: Brood Awakening part 2 of 4"! That's right! Book two is mere minutes from the printer's press! The wait is nearly over and believe me, REAL comic book fans (this means you) will not be disappointed! Here's a quick rundown:

Team leader, Hazard, is in a big battle with Lifelord's newest (greatest) creation, Aries. Hot Shot is in hot pursuit of the Lifelord when he gets sidetracked by a mercenary named Riot, who has enough energy to put the Energizer bunny to shame. The rest of the Brood (Raze, Jinx, Kaos, Livewire & Celena) face off with the Lifelord's other henchmen (Bloodbath, Fire-arm, and the Raven).

Plenty of action is in store, as well as some genuine revelations of the Brood Awakening storyline begin to unfold. You do not want to miss this one!

Don't have any idea what I'm talking about? You must have missed book #1. Shame on you ;)
But fear not, friends. Book 1 of 4 is available through our site:  http://www.sinistercomicstudios.com/
You can purchase it there to brush up on The Brood and get on board while the bandwagon is still warming up.

Also, be sure to check out our other titles while you're there: The Knuckle Heads and S.C.A.R.L.E.T.T.

Hey, we've got something for everyone! I even heard a rumor that you can even get FREEBIES with each new order (while supplies last, of course).

Do yourself a favor and check out our wares. Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah... Here's a sneak peek of the cover of Book 2! Drop me a line and opine....

More than just Comics

Hello, D.M.Eason here and today I want to talk a little about some of the other things that I am currently working on. Over the past few months I've been working with Peak City Publishing. I've designed logos, did cover art for novels and interior illustrations for novels. I'm even working on something for a fellow artist over at Alpha Dog Studios also. So from time to time you will see me post some of these pieces. Like today, I have a few things to show so take a look and enjoy....

This is the cover I did for a book called The Wanderer of New Hope by R.T.Crowley. It is somewhat of a ghost story that blurs the lines between fact and fiction. It is a really good read, and it is available at
Amazon.com: The Wanderer of New Hope   and at   www.peakcitypublishing.com

This is interior art I did for The Wanderer of New Hope .
Another interior piece I did for The Wanderer of New Hope.
This is the cover art for the second edition of The First Line. The First Line is a free writing contest, sponsored by All Booked Up and Peak City Publishing for young adults.
The winner of the contest worked with me and conveyed her vision of the book cover based on the winning manuscript: "When It's Over".

That about does it for this time. So make sure you come back to see what's new under the Sinister Studios umbrella. Cause we are more than just comics.
As always, More Ta Come.
